Chapter 6: Hospital Crisis and Determination

Jason was anxious and drove to the hospital at lightning speed. He held the steering wheel tightly with both hands, his knuckles turned white due to the force, and his mind kept emerging with all kinds of tragic situations that his father might encounter, and his heart was full of anxiety and uneasiness.

Finally, Jason arrived at the hospital. He parked the car randomly on the side and rushed into the emergency room. His eyes eagerly scanned every corner, and finally saw his mother’s familiar and helpless figure in front of the ward at the end of the corridor. His mother was sitting in a chair, covering her face with her hands, her shoulders trembling slightly, and the air around her seemed to be frozen in this sadness.

Jason took a few steps forward, squatted in front of his mother, and gently held her mother’s hand. His mother slowly raised her head, her eyes were red and swollen, full of tears, her lips trembling, as if she wanted to say something, but she was choked by sadness. Jason hugged his mother distressedly, patted her back, and comforted her softly: “Mom, I’m here, don’t worry too much, Dad will be fine.” His mother sobbed in his arms, her body trembling slightly, and her hands tightly grasped Jason’s arm, as if she had grasped the last straw to save her life.

After a while, his mother’s mood calmed down a little and began to tell the story. It turned out that his father drove to the company as usual today. When he was waiting for the red light at an intersection, a heavy truck that ran a red light suddenly rushed over and hit the driver’s side of his father’s car. His father was rushed to the hospital and has completed the initial operation. His leg bone was severely fractured. Fortunately, he was not in danger of life, but he still needed a long time of treatment and rehabilitation.

Jason listened to his mother’s narration, frowned, and an ominous premonition surged in his heart. He has been working in some fields for many years and has made many enemies. He suspected that his father’s car accident was not accidental. It is very likely that someone came for him, but there is no evidence yet. Thinking of this, Jason’s eyes became firm and cold.

He comforted his mother and asked her to rest in the ward first. He walked out of the ward and called several friends. The first call was to Mark, who was the head of a top detective agency. After the call was connected, Jason said concisely and clearly: “Mark, my father had a car accident, and I suspect there is a conspiracy behind it. Please help me check the origin of the truck that hit my father today, including the owner’s information and driving trajectory. Don’t miss any details.” Mark responded seriously on the other end of the phone: “No problem, Jason, I will arrange someone to check it immediately and notify you as soon as there is news.”

Then, Jason called Lucy, who was the boss of a network security company. “Lucy, I need your help. Help me hack into the traffic monitoring system of the road section where the car accident happened today to see if there are any abnormalities, especially the driving route of the truck before the accident and the surrounding suspicious vehicles.” Lucy agreed without hesitation: “Don’t worry, Jason, this is a piece of cake for me, and I will give you news soon.” After the call, Jason took a deep breath and returned to the ward. Looking at his father who was pale and unconscious on the bed, his heart was full of guilt and anger. He secretly vowed to find out the truth and make the mastermind pay the price. He walked to his mother, held her hand again, and whispered: “Mom, don’t worry, I have asked my friends to help me find out what happened. You take a rest first, I will stay here to watch over Dad.” The mother looked at Jason, her eyes full of trust and dependence, and nodded gently. Jason sat down beside his father’s bed, holding his father’s hand tightly, looking out the window with a firm gaze, hoping that his friends would send some useful information as soon as possible.
